We have a vacancy for a Part-Time Social Media Trainee (approx. 21 hours/week) to support our two dog-focused businesses —The DoGRoom (service-based: grooming, daycare, boarding) and Von Hound & Friends (product-based Shopify store).

Adult Aged Trainees are strongly encouraged to apply.

Location: Duroby/Tweed region (Southern Gold Coast proximity).

Qualification: Diploma of Social Media Marketing

Role overview (traineeship):

  • Social media content creation & scheduling (IG/FB/TikTok)
  • Photography & short-form video (behind-the-scenes, grooming, products)
  • Basic graphic design (Canva; bonus if Adobe)
  • Website/Shopify updates; basic email marketing (Omnisend)
  • Light, occasional dog-related tasks: escorting dogs to/from clients post-groom, assisting during photo/video capture in the grooming process

Ideal skills/attributes:

  • Comfortable shooting/editing on phone or basic camera (provided)
  • Canva competency; understanding of Reels/TikTok trends
  • Strong writing skills for captions; basic Shopify experience a plus (but I will also be available to guide and teach)
  • Reliable, organised, good communicator; animal-confident

Environment: We operate on a rural farm property (Tweed/Southern Gold Coast). The successful candidate must love dogs, be calm and confident around them, and be happy to get hands-on(and sometimes a bit dirty!) while creating content.

Hours & arrangement:

  • Part Time trainee, ~21 hrs/week (Monday - Thursday)
  • Start: ASAP (happy to align with RTO timetables)
