We are a local, family-orientated Dental Practice in the Wollongong CBD & also 2nd location 40min towards Sydney near Heathcote/Engadine. We can offer you a friendly, supportive and team focused work environment.

This position will provide the successful applicant with training and skills needed to assist a dentist, hands-on with patients, and practice reception. Previous dental experience not required.

You will receive traineeship wages due to supervision required. You will be getting hands-on experience (getting paid while you work towards a Certificate 3). We will enroll you in online TAFE course Certificate III in Dental Assisting, which you will obtain at the end of the year.

The Role

  • One (to two) year traineeship in Dental Assisting, working towards Certificate III in Dental Assisting
  • Looking for junior additional member of our team
  • Full training provided - no experience required
  • Assisting the Dentist
  • Sterilisation, Cleaning & Disinfection of surgery
  • Reception & Patient bookings
  • Work shifts during the week + Saturdays
  • Need to have own licence + car - need to be able to drive about 1-2 days a week to 2nd practice 40min near Heathcote/Engadine

Being a small practice, there will be periods of being busy, and quieter periods. You will be supported by the dentist, but expected to learn to work independently & confidently.

This is a fantastic opportunity to achieve a certificate while being paid (supervised trainee rate + paid book work hours). Others doing normal Certificate III in Dental Assisting without a traineeship would normally have to pay the course fees and work unpaid work experience hours at a practice they have to approach themselves. As part of a traineeship, you get paid while you study towards Cert 3!
