About Us:
We are an automotive restoration and modification workshop based in Cremorne, Melbourne. We specialise in breathing new life into classic vehicles through meticulous restoration, customisation, and performance upgrades. As our reputation grows, so does our workshop so we’re now looking for a dedicated Automotive Apprentice Engine Builderto join our small but highly skilled team.
This is a rare opportunity to work alongside experienced engine technicians and be part of building high-performance, bespoke engines in a supportive, hands-on learning environment.
About the Role:
You’ll work closely with our senior engine technician, learning the full process of engine reconditioning and assembly. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and passionate about precision engineering and classic cars.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engine Assembly: Assist with the complete assembly of custom and high-performance engines, including cleaning, preparation, measuring, bolting, and torquing components.
- Precision Work: Follow strict procedures to ensure every step of the build process is carried out with accuracy and consistency.
- Documentation & Quality Control: Assist in maintaining detailed records and adhering to quality assurance protocols.
- Workshop Standards: Maintain a clean, tidy, and professional workspace at all times, our workshop is frequently visible to visiting clients.
- Inventory Management: Help manage thousands of intricate engine components, ensuring everything is tracked and accounted for using our internal part numbering system.
- Learning & Development: Over time, develop knowledge in EFI mapping, electronics, and fault-finding to contribute more to testing and engine tuning.

- Motivated, reliable, and able to work both independently and in a team
- Committed to safety and workshop protocols
- Well-organised and pays attention to detail
Requirements:
To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must:
- Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold working rights in Australia
- Be committed to completing anautomotive engine qualification
- Have a basic understanding of mechanical systems
- Have a genuine desire to build a career in automotive engine building
