Bakery Apprentice
Heatherbrae's Pies are on the lookout for an energetic and committed Pastry Chef Apprentice who is keen to establish a rewarding career at our Heatherbrae Bakery, in the Hunter region, NSW.
You would be working with talented industry professionals using the freshest meats, vegetables and dairy products to produce premium quality foods.
You may be a school leaver that has an interest in cooking or food production and is looking for an excellent opportunity to get into the workforce and establish a long-term career with a friendly team, or alternatively you may have already commenced your apprenticeship (1st, 2nd or 3rd year) but are looking for a change of scenery with a new employer.
You will learn:
- How to put together recipes and cook gourmet pie fillings
- To prepare a range of pastry types; Puff, Crust, Shortbread etc
- How to prepare different bread types, white, fruit, banana bread etc
- To prepare different cakes types, custard tarts, vanilla slice, donuts, sweet pies etc
About you:
- Have a respectful and mature approach to working in a team environment
- Positive and professional communication style
- Willingness to learn and develop your skills with a hands on approach to learning.
- Have the ability to reliably get to and from the workplace and TAFE
- It is essential that you are a reliable member of staff and demonstrate the Heatherbrae's Pies commitment to quality.
- Must be an Australian citizen or have permanent Australian working rights.
We prepare and bake seven days a week and you would be rostered over a five-day week commencing 5.00am daily. With time allocated for TAFE to learn in a practical classroom environment.
