About Us
Wind In The Willows is a boutique, 28-place centre where children—and authentic engagement—come first. We operate with an over-ratio staffing model to ensure our educators can focus on building genuine connections rather than paperwork. The leadership team is led by Director/Owner Kirsty Bonett, who holds a Bachelor of Education and multiple diplomas in early childhood education.

Position Overview
This is a traineeship position ideal for individuals who have completed a Certificate III in Education and Care and are looking to further their qualifications and experience in a supportive environment. The successful applicant will undertake a structured learning pathway while gaining practical experience in a vibrant early childhood setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivering a play-based program tailored to each child's interests and developmental needs
  • Foster genuine, one-on-one relationships with children and their families
  • Observe and document milestones in a meaningful, streamlined way
  • Collaborate daily with a close-knit team on activities, routines, and excursions
  • Help maintain a safe, nurturing indoor and outdoor environment

We’re Looking For

  • Certification: Completed Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (mandatory prerequisite)
  • Current Working With Children Check, asthma and anaphylaxis training, and first aid certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written
  • A passion for child-centred practice and genuine engagement
  • Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a collaborative approach
  • Australian work rights – please note we do not offer visa sponsorship
