Roof Plumbing Apprenticeship

Calibre Metal Roofing Pty Ltdis looking for two Roof Plumbing Apprentices.

Whether you're a first-year apprentice just starting out or have some experience as a second or third-year apprentice, we’d love to hear from you!

This role will involve travel, covering areas such as Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Fraser Coast, and Toowoomba, with the possibility of working in other locations as required. The best part is that we offer great benefits, including full coverage of your food, travel, and accommodation expenses.

Duties:

• Repair and install down pipes
• Install and water proofing metal roofing sheets, gutters and downpipes
• Cut sheeting to fit roof shapes and sizes
• Install and seal skylights
• Install stormwater and drainage systems
• Attend work during arranged work hours at various locations to complete practical on-the-job training
• Install, commission, maintain and test roofs in all classes of buildings and premises.
• Perform work under supervision either individually or in a team environment.
• Work with and provide assistance to other employees.
• Perform tasks safely, identify and minimise hazards within sphere of work.
• Attend and satisfactorily complete compulsory off-the-job training (Certificate lll- Roof Plumbing) at a registered training organisation (RTO) nominated by the employer.

• Willingness to travel and carry out duties in varied workplaces and conditions.
• Willingness to learn the trade
• Ability to pass police/criminal history check (if required ).
• Ability to pass medical, drug and alcohol testing (if required )
• Willingness to undertake reasonable ad hoc overtime as required for the efficient completion of duties or emergency purposes.
• Willingness and availability to perform reasonable planned overtime or weekend work as required.

You may be required to and not limited to:

• Climb stairs or work at heights on ladders, steps, scaffolds, roofs, boom scissor lifts etc;
• Travel to and from varied worksites / locations.
• Drive and move in and out of vehicles and plant such as trucks.
• Grip and operate a variety of hand and power tools.
• Lift and carry items of equipment including handling heavy, unstable and awkward loads.
• Perform tasks with both portable hand and electrical tools.
• Pull and push objects such as water or gas pipes.
• Work above shoulder height, reaching and working overhead
