Urban Restaurant & Wine Bar is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Kitchen Apprentice.

This is an exceptional opportunity to work closely with our talented Head Chef Darcy Glassock who brings years of experience and knowledge of European Cuisine to Darby Street.

About Urban Restaurant& Wine Bar:

Cosy venue with 38 seats inside and 12 seats in our outdoor area.We are open Tuesday-Saturday, closed on Public Holidays.

With a European inspired menu and a commitment to using high-quality ingredients, we aim to create outstanding dishes.

We value creativity, teamwork, and a passion for culinary, making Urban the perfect environment for aspiring chef to learn and grow.

About You:

  • You have a passion for the culinary industry and a strong desire to learn and grow as a chef.
  • You willing to take direction and learn from experienced Head Chef.
  • You have great communication and teamwork skills.
  • You are flexible to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities:

As a Kitchen Apprentice, you will have excellent opportunity to collaborate with our Head Chef Vito Sechi, who will mentor you throughout culinary journey. You will assist in various aspects of kitchen operations.

  • Assisting with food preparation and cooking under the guidance of the Head Chef.
  • Learning and practising various culinary techniques,including knife skills, cooking methods, and flavour combinations.
  • Ensuring food quality and presentation meet our high standards.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and food storage areas.
  • Contribute creative ideas for menu and presentation.
  • Following all food safety guidelines.
