Apprentice Chef
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Apprentice Chef to join our culinary team at our French casual dining restaurant. This role is ideal for individuals who aspire to learn the art of classical French cuisine, gain hands-on experience in a professional kitchen. Working under the guidance of our Head Chef, the Apprentice Chef will be immersed in French culinary traditions while completing a recognised apprenticeship program.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of traditional and modern French dishes.
Learn classical French techniques such as sauces, stocks, patisserie.
Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene, food safety, and workstation cleanliness.
Assist with receiving and storing fresh produce, specialty French ingredients, and wines.
Follow recipes and plating standards to maintain consistency in fine dining service.
Participate in training, menu tastings, and regular skill assessments as part of the apprenticeship program.

Genuine passion for French cuisine and fine dining.
Commitment to learning classical cooking techniques and culinary theory.
Strong attention to detail, presentation, and flavour.
Ability to take direction and work collaboratively in a professional kitchen brigade.
Punctual, reliable, and committed to completing apprenticeship training.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in line with restaurant service.
Qualifications:
Enroled in or willing to commence a recognised culinary apprenticeship (e.g., Certificate III in Commercial Cookery in Australia).
No prior professional kitchen experience required, but a keen interest in French gastronomy is essential.
Any prior exposure to a hospitality or fine-dining environment will be advantageous.
To be eligible for an apprenticeship or traineeship you must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have full working rights.
