Your identification numbers
By now you should have been notified of your personalised identification (ID) numbers:
- Apprentice ID issued by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR)
- STA ID issued by the State or Territory Training Authority in the state your Training Contract is registered
Make sure you retain these numbers as you'll be using them throughout your apprenticeship journey.
Why your Apprentice ID is important
Your Apprentice ID is needed to confirm your identity when applying for, or claiming, eligible Commonwealth Government financial benefits in the Apprenticeships Data Management System (ADMS).
Why your STA ID is important
Your State Training Authority ID (or STA ID) is sent to your chosen Registered Training Organisation (RTO), so they can get in touch with you and arrange to start your training. You can also use your STA ID to apply for apprentice or trainee benefits that may be available in your state.
