Originally from Alice Springs, Tara McAdam moved to Adelaide to seek greater career opportunities where she was successful in securing a traineeship position within MEGT’s Adelaide Office as a Field Officer Support person. As part of her traineeship Tara is studying for a Certificate III in Business which she is due to complete in July 2015.

Tara quickly proved she was a valuable asset to the SA team and we encouraged her to apply for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the year.

Tara was shortlisted for the award and was required to interview and present to a panel of judges in relation to the VET sector and the benefits that traineeships and apprenticeships offer young people in South Australia.

We were very pleased to hear that Tara was then recommended by the panel to be a finalist for this honour and she will be attending the SA State Training Awards 2015 on September 11 to find out if she is successful.

We wish Tara all the best for the night and look forward to her continual growth and development within MEGT.
