The NAIDOC theme for 2015 – We all Stand on Sacred ground: Learn, Respect and Celebrate – highlights Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples strong spiritual and cultural connection to land and sea.
NAIDOC week is an opportunity for all Australians to join together and recognise the outstanding achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the valuable contributions they continue to make to this country.
MEGT VTEC was invited to celebrate the achievements of our 10 VTEC participants that are employed and completing qualifications at Charcoal Lane. The students planned, prepared and served a three-course meal inspired by native food to guests talking about the origins of the food and what inspired each dish.
VTEC Manager Tracee Vassallo and VTEC Mentor Anita Peraic enjoyed beautiful meals comprising ingredients such as Kangaroo Tail, Crocodile and Wallaby prepared with indigenous herbs and influences throughout the three courses.
It was a pleasure to be a part of the special guest list of people watching the VTEC participants in their working environment utilising the skills they have gained and celebrating their many achievements.
