Congratulations to De Bruyn’s Transport for being awarded the 2014 Transport and Logistics Industry Skills Council Chairman’s Award.
This Award acknowledges De Bruyn’s efforts in developing programs and strategies that demonstrate innovation in quality training outcomes within the Transport Industry.
In accepting the Award, Ferdie Kroon, De Bruyn’s Transport Risk & Compliance Manager acknowledged the support provided by MEGT Australia’s apprenticeships services.
Mr Kroon said “The Award provides significant recognition for De Bruyn’s Transport, a Tasmanian family owned company, and that it clearly demonstrates our commitment to working with employees in achieving positive learning outcomes that benefit both our staff and the wider business. It also rewards a long term, focussed effort by De Bruyn’s to bolster staff training over the last few years.”
Sarah Burnett, MEGT’s Consultant to De Bruyn’s Transport in Tasmania said she shares their excitement and pride. “It’s a fantastic effort, but absolutely not surprising,” said Ms Burnett. “Michelle Clark and I have been providing training for their staff for 3 years now and have seen first hand how serious they are about growing their business through staff development. In fact De Bruyn’s has taken advantage of a range of MEGT’s business services, including using our Australian Apprenticeships Centre to help facilitate their incentives for more than 120 Australian Apprentices as well as the Education programs we deliver.
“The transport industry are facing the challenge of a maturing workforce and has been proactive in encouraging businesses like De Bruyn’s to take the initiative in planning for their future. These Awards are not just a way of acknowledging the excellence of De Bruyn’s business, but also showcasing them as a best-practice example to the industry.”
