Skilling Queenslanders for Work
Support for service providers
At MEGT, we know you’re the experts at delivering Skilling Queenslanders for Work-funded programs and as a Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) provider ourselves we know what’s needed to get these programs up and running.
We also know some things are trickier to navigate than others…like the Australian Apprenticeships programme.
That’s where we come in.
Who is MEGT?
Established in 1982, MEGT is an Australian not-for-profit organisation that has been supporting local employers, apprentices, trainees and job seekers for 35 years.
Put simply – we’re your local apprenticeship experts.
How can we help?
For SQW providers choosing to give local job seekers an opportunity to be involved in their programs through an apprenticeship or traineeship, our local experts are here to provide on-the-ground assistance with every aspect of the Australian Apprenticeships programme.
From recruitment, sign-up and registration to employer financial incentives, marketing and promotion and ongoing support, we offer the following FREE services to assist your CBOs through the entire Australian Apprenticeships process:
While you’re getting your programs off the ground, our local MEGT Field Consultants can attend your SQW sessions to:
- Provide all the latest information about apprenticeships and traineeships, including potential Government financial incentives for employers and personal benefits for apprentices and trainees
- Provide information about personalised mentoring services offered by our team throughout an apprenticeship or traineeship
- Discuss workforce requirements and recruitment needs
- Conduct information sessions for potential apprentice and trainee candidates around finding the right career path and the right job opportunity
- Conduct mock interviews and other pre-employment activities with participants
We can register your job vacancies on MEGT’s online job board – Career Hub. Not only will you get access to our dedicated apprenticeship and traineeship job board, you’ll also get support from a team of experts who are on hand and ready to help them achieve their recruitment goals.
For SQW providers wishing to engage an apprentice or trainee, a Commonwealth Government Training Contract must be in place. This may sound complicated but that’s what we’re here for.
Once programs have been launched, we can assist with marketing and promotion, including sharing success stories and program updates through all our communication channels and our extensive networks across the state.
Our experienced team of mentors will also be here to give new apprentices and trainees a hand settling into work and training, understanding how their role fits within the program and identifying development opportunities.
As programs start to wind down, we’ll be here to attend course graduations and provide certificates for apprentice and trainee participants where relevant.
We’ll also be on hand to create “Ready to Work” plans for all apprentices and trainees who are still engaged after completing their qualification. For participants looking for employment, we can provide employment pathways via our Career Hub and local networks.
