Douglas Sheetmetal & Engineering are currently looking for an Apprentice Boilermaker to join the team. 

Working with qualified and skilled engineers you will gain valuable hands-on experience, mentoring and support. 

Suitable applicants must have a genuine interest in pursuing engineering as a career path, be motivated and willing to work hard to get trade qualified. 

Duties will involve:  

  • Assist in the fabrication, assembly, installation, and maintenance of various metal structures. 
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand project requirements. 
  • Operate and maintain various hand and power tools, such as grinders, drills, welding equipment, and cutting torches. 
  • Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and fitting tasks to ensure accurate assembly and alignment of metal components. 
  • Assist in the inspection and testing of completed structures to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area. 

The successful candidate will:  

  • Be able to undertake manual/physical work. 
  • Motivated with a genuine interest in the fabrication industry. 
  • Be trustworthy and reliable. 
  • Have a high level of attention to detail.
