MEGT is thrilled to congratulate our BHP Billiton Olympic Dam apprentices, who went without injury for the entire 2015 calendar year.
With up to 70 apprentices on site during the year, the team has strived to become more safety focused, engaging in discussions through weekly health and safety meetings. While out in the field, the focus has been on completing quality risk assessments to achieve their goal of Zero Harm.
This effort is even more outstanding as the group work in areas perceived across the site as “High Risk,” including underground fixed plant maintenance, mobile fleet maintenance, smelter maintenance, refinery maintenance and hoisting.
As a group, the apprentices are setting a high standard, by showing everyone from their trade colleagues and supervisors that Zero Harm is definitely achievable.
Well done to all the BHP Billiton Olympic Dam apprentices!
