Improving literacy and numeracy for Tasmanian workers

Improving literacy and numeracy for Tasmanian workers

  • Published on Tuesday, February 23, 2016

Applications are now open for the Tasmanian Government’s 26TEN Grants for Employers program, aimed at developing the reading, writing, numeracy and communication skills of adult workers in Tasmania.

Funding of between $5,000 and $50,000 will be awarded to eligible employers, industry associations, peak bodies and registered training organisations across the state for research and training, and to improve the literary friendliness of the workplace.

Employers will be able to use funds to make sure work documents and signs are written in plain English and that supervisors and managers are trained to support workers in developing their literacy and numeracy skills.

Grant applications are open to public, private and voluntary organisations for both paid and voluntary workers.

Applications close Friday 11 March 2016. Find out more about the 26TEN project here. For more information and to apply, click here.
