More than 6600 athletes and officials from 71 Commonwealth nations and territories will take part in the 2018 Commonwealth Games, being held on the Gold Coast from 4 to 15 April 2018.
Lead development firm Grocon are heading the construction of the Commonwealth Games Village – The Parklands Project – and have called upon MEGT to assist with recruiting apprentices. As well as providing staffing solutions, we will also offer training and mentoring specific to the apprentices working on the site.
The $550 million development is one of the most significant urban renewal projects ever undertaken on the Gold Coast. It features 1,252 dwellings with a mix of apartments and townhouses that will become available to the public to rent in 2019. The development also includes a retail precinct, and landscaped garden spaces built around a ‘Village Heart’ and is only three kilometres from Southport CBD and five kilometres from Surfers Paradise.
MEGT will continue to work with Grocon throughout this exciting project to increase apprentice numbers as the development ramps up in the coming months, and support them to completion.
