17 December, 2020

A report by respected global auditing firm KPMG has found participants in the Microsoft Traineeship Program may earn up to 50% more than other graduates with the same qualifications.

The report also found that host employers enjoyed significantly reduced staff turnover and recruitment costs, and that nine out of ten would recommend the program to other IT businesses.

Program participants take part in two years of on-the-job training while undertaking a Certificate IV in Information Technology, gaining valuable work experience with host employers from a range of sectors.

The KPMG report also found:

  • 89% of host employers would or may employ their trainees after they’ve completed their traineeship.
  • 98% of trainees described their ‘on the job’ experience as a key benefit.
  • 39% of trainees were women, 10% higher than the national IT industry average.

The report was released to coincide with the first ever graduation ceremony of the program, which featured 29 trainees, on December 8th 2020.
