MEGT Recruitment and Management Services - Recruitment Consultant


The Recruitment & Management Services Division:

  • Assists in the development of a highly skilled nation by providing education and training to Australian Apprentices 

  • Sources employment opportunities for the benefit of the community and individuals, including disadvantaged groups 

  • Assists governments in the implementation of programs developed and funded by them 

  • Provides host employers with quality Australian Apprentices (inclusive of apprentices and trainees) to support their business

This is a key role within MEGT (Australia) Ltd Recruitment and Management Services Division.  The primary focus of this role will be to coordinate and execute the recruitment functions and associated activities in addition to sourcing new vacancies through reverse marketing.  The Recruitment Consultant will provide a consistently high standard of customer service by recruiting candidates to be placed successfully with host employers within a range of industry sectors. 

The Recruitment Consultant manages the vacancy and completes the employer specification, candidate sourcing, placement and management of the candidate for the first month of employment and all associated administrative tasks associated with the recruitment process. The consultant conducts candidate screening, testing, interviews, reference checks and relationship calls to host employers and candidates.

  • proven experience with high volume end to end recruitment functions within a range of industry sectors

  • comprehensive understanding of recruitment practices and methodologies

  • demonstrated experience in strategic relationship development and networking, able to determine and prioritise relationships, balancing short-term gain with long-term considerations

  • detailed knowledge of job offer processes and related industry regulations

  • ability to effectively market and promote MEGT Recruitment and Management Services to industry stakeholders and actively manage those relationships to achieve sustained success

  • high-quality communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of a diverse team at all levels of the organisation 

  • demonstrated knowledge of utilising recruitment systems to deliver high-quality results for candidates and employers

  • minimum of intermediate level of digital literacy across multiple Microsoft suite applications and programs



  • proven ability to self-motivate and work autonomously to manage work priorities, meet deadlines efficiently and exceed KPIs

  • ability to build effective and collaborative relationships and able to balance the current and future needs of multiple stakeholders

  • excellent planning, organisational, priority setting and time managements skills with a high attention to detail

  • experience with high volume recruitment that has achieved successful outcomes and a high level of customer satisfaction 

  • excellent problem solving, analytical and evidence-based decision-making skills, with a focus on delivering quality results in line with organisational objectives



In the role, you will be required to:

  • coordinate and execute high-quality recruitment functions for MEGT Recruitment and Management Services while liaising with Industry Employment Consultant’s and Managers on recruitment needs in line with organisational objectives

  • source, select, assess and interview a wide range of applicants for various positions ranging across specialisation

  • develop strategic and collaborative relationships with business partners and other stakeholders through strong relationship networking

  • coordinate and manage the interview process from advertisement, job profile template, references check and offer whilst ensuring open lines of communication are kept throughout the process, including communicating customer needs and expectations effectively to internal stakeholders

  • maintain and support growth within existing contracted client (PSA) relationships by delivering superior customer service and supplying quality candidates to complement their workforce

  • manage and develop active candidate talent pools by using available data to analyse, evaluate and assess suitability to roles and organisations

  • manage the job offer process negotiating assignment rates and or salary packages and finalise arrangements between client and candidates. Proactively share relevant information, expertise and resources with both client and candidates, for example advice on pay rates, training requirements and career progression

  • adhere to recruitment policy/process including and not limited to the application archiving process and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of those policies/processes

  • reverse market candidates to current, inactive and new host employers

  • maintain and update recruitment records and system database management, ensuring that all data is maintained accurately, reliably and securely 

  • create accurate and reliable reports of recruitment vacancies and make those reports available to direct manager, updating the system with all associated activities accordingly

  • ensure a high standard of customer service is provided to all internal and external customers and complete all administrative duties associated with recruitment lifecycle to a high-quality standard

  • undertake collaborative development and improvement activities with candidates and host employers through measuring performance, providing feedback and recognising achievements

  • actively participate in other associated activities as required by your manager to achieve the strategy and objectives of the division and wider organisation.

  • Undertake continuous professional development activities by engaging with the MEGT Performance Appraisal and Development Program.

In collaboration with the Direct Manager, measure, monitor and achieve business development targets in line with organisational objectives, including but not limited to:

  • interviews

  • send outs

  • jobs filled

  • job specification forms signed 

  • reverse marketing. 


In addition to regular weekly discussions on progress against target with the line manager, an annual review will be conducted to determine ‘on the job performance’. This annual KPI review will form part of a consultative review of your overall performance in general encompassing all requirements of the position description as a minimum.



All staff are required to take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of other personnel who may be affected by their conduct.



This position is required to undertake a National Police Check prior to commencing employment. A State/Territory Working with Children or Working with Vulnerable People Check may also be required by any applicable State/Territory legislation. The National Police Check must be renewed every two years as a minimum.
