Interested in construction but unsure where to learn the right skills?

It can be difficult to know where to start, especially if you’re a woman looking to enter a traditionally male-dominated industry like construction. We’re committed to providing training and education solutions that make a positive difference, which is what the Built By Jill employment program is all about. 

What is ‘Built by Jill’?

Built by Jill is part of the Local Jobs Program (LJP) funded by the Department of Education, Skills and Employment. It offers an employment program for women looking to explore job opportunities within the construction industry by providing structured training over five weeks.

How does it work?

The program includes a free five-week course at SYC, Marion, Adelaide from 11 July 2022 to 11 August 2022 from 9am to 4pm Monday to Thursday. The course covers:

SSDIS01008 - Introduction to Construction Skill Set

•    CCM2010B: Work safely at heights 
•    CWHS1001: Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
•    CWHS2001: Apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry
•    CCM2005B: Use construction tools and equipment
•    CCM1012: Work effectively and sustainably in the construction industry
•    CVE1011A: Undertake a basic construction project
