Red carpet service requires a top level hospitality trainee

There is no doubt the KPMG corporate offices are a beautiful place to work. Clients receive red carpet treatment in the well-appointed meeting rooms. The image and expertise of staff handling the catering and guest refreshments is top-drawer and MEGT Group Training purpose-selects trainees for the role.
Sarah Monaghan is a hospitality trainee is employed by MEGT Group Training and placed with KPMG while she undertakes her Certificate IV in Hospitality training.
Sarah says that she didn’t start out thinking about hospitality as a career. ‘A year ago I thought I was going to be a teacher and going to university. It didn’t work out for me and decided the best way to get a job and a qualification was through a traineeship.
‘You are getting to study and to work at the same time. You don’t have to find a part time job somewhere else and also study. I was looking for hospitality and found the position with MEGT. I love my experience here at KPMG as it has been very rewarding. I have learned so much in a short amount of time and I love coming to work every day. As a trainee, you learn a lot more when it’s hands on, rather than just sitting in a school room reading from books.
‘I love meeting new people every day and going that one step further for them. It’s a lot of fun.’
Suzie Smith, MEGT Field Officer says Sarah is highly regarded within KPMG and has been a model trainee. KPMG plays an integral role in the home buying industry and partners with MEGT in its Greenhouse Project.
