Ensure no trip hazards, paths are clear & a tidy work place is maintained. Ladders and work platforms are fit for use and used as designed.
Mechanical (Mob eqpt, power tools, plant).
Electrical equipment and tools are tested and tagged. Check for faults, rotating parts, crushing, pinch points; ensure that personnel are trained in its use.
Biomechanical (Ergonomics, manual handling).
Use correct lifting techniques, mechanical aids or two-person lift for heavy, bulky or awkward items.
Radiation (Sun, X-rays)
Wear sun protection and appropriate PPE.
Chemical.
Check Safety Data Sheets for information for storage, use and or exposure.
Noise/Vibration.
Use hearing protection or re-design environment/task to reduce noise or vibration.
Electrical.
No live work. Check for exposed energy sources and for faulty equipment. Ensure testing and tagging of electrical equipment is current.
Pressure (vessels, containers, tyres).
Trained in its use and operate equipment as designed. All safety devices are in place.
Biological.
Appropriate protection to be used where viruses, bacteria, germs & pests may exist.
Thermal (heat, cold).
Check for site specific controls to address extreme hot & cold environments.
Cuts, lacerations.
Use gloves, appropriate PPE and tools. Be vigilant and minimise distraction.
Working with other trades.
Be vigilant when working with other trades and their equipment.
Psychosocial.
Check that tasks do not create repeated feelings of stress, anxiousness or depression.
