How does it work?
The program is designed to help workers obtain Open Registration with Fibre, Structured and CoAx endorsements which are now statuary Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) requirements.
Your workers will be given a practical understanding of the handling and installation of these cables. Through practical exercises they’ll learn to prepare cables, layout splice trays, copper and fibre patch panels, fit connectors, use fusion splicers and perform basic system testing.
Workers will gain practical experience in the field while they gain one of the following nationally accredited qualifications:
- Certificate II in Telecommunications (ICT20213) (Available as an apprenticeship qualification in NSW, QLD, TAS, VIC & WA)
- Certificate II in Telecommunications Network, Build & Operate (ICT20215) (Available as an apprenticeship qualification in NSW, QLD, TAS, VIC & WA)
- Certificate III in Telecommunications (ICT30515) (Available as an apprenticeship qualification in NSW, QLD, TAS, VIC & WA)
- Certificate III in Telecommunications Network, Build & Operate (ICT30415) (Available as an apprenticeship qualification in NSW, QLD, TAS, VIC & WA)
As these qualifications are part of the National Skills Needs List^ further Government training subsidies and financial incentives may also be available for eligible employers.
