MEGT apprentice Kaitlyn Schiltz impressed judges at the recent Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, winning first prize in the advanced category.

A second-year apprentice at Jenny Burke Florist in Ballarat, she used a variety of flowers and succulents to represent her coral-themed design.

Kaitlyn also won the intermediate category at the 2015 show and is already planning for next year’s competition where she hopes to be involved in creating some of the major designs.

She has strong ambitions for her career in floristry, saying “I would love to work with well-known and highly regarded florists.”

Well done Kaitlyn!
