Important funding update for WA employers

24 August, 2017

The new financial year is here which means new funding announcements from the WA Government.

The Construction Training Fund

The Construction Training Fund aims to support training programs to help overcome skills shortages. It is also designed to develop the skills required for a modern, safe and productive building and construction industry.

Grants of up to $19,000* are available to eligible employers to reduce the cost of employing and training apprentices across all sectors of the building and construction industry.

Grants are available to eligible employers of apprentices or trainees registered with the Department of Training and Workforce Development in various qualifications. Further subsidies are available for:

  • Regional areas
  • Indigenous apprentices or trainees
  • Pre-apprenticeships or VET in Schools students
  • Female apprentices or trainees

Eligible apprentices may also be able to access financial support including scholarships and accommodation allowances.

When you sign up an apprentice or trainee, you may also be eligible for further Government financial incentives. Find out more here.
