Effective 1 July 2017, concession cards for NSW apprentices and trainees have been replaced.

What’s changing?

The current Indentured Apprentice/Trainee NSW Transport Concession Card has been discontinued and replaced by a new-style Transport Concession Entitlement Card.

The new card will enable the cardholder to access concession fares on all public transport up until 31 March of the following year, subject to continued eligibility*. A new application will need to be lodged each year.

Without a Transport Concession Entitlement Card and Concession Opal Card, apprentices and trainees are required to pay for and travel with a full adult fare.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a Transport Concession Entitlement Card, an apprentice or trainee must:

  • be registered with Training Services NSW as an apprentice or new entrant trainee; and
  • continue to be in an active apprenticeship or new entrant traineeship approved by Training Services NSW

*Eligibility criteria apply. Find out more here.
