L-R: Mechanic Rhys Coleman and apprentice Jak Cameron, Progress Transport Services.
MEGT apprentice Jak Cameron is living proof that you never know where your next opportunity will come from!
While his girlfriend’s dad, Shane – a local truck driver in Warrnambool, Victoria – was getting his truck serviced at Progress Transport Services (PTS), he started chatting to the mechanics. He soon learned the company was looking for an apprentice and when Shane mentioned his daughter’s boyfriend Jak wanted to be a mechanic, the guys at PTS offered jumped at the chance to offer Jak a short work trial.
Fast forward to today and Jak is signed up as an apprentice through MEGT, completing his AUR31116 Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology with PTS. Jak is thrilled to have this opportunity to get on the career path he wanted with a reputable local company.
Well done Jak and good luck!
