Back to Work program - expanded to Latrobe Valley

19 April, 2017

Hiring and training new workers in the Latrobe Valley? Up to $9,000 employer funding is now available. *

If you’re hiring a new apprentice or trainee, we can help you sign them up and assess your eligibility for Commonwealth Government incentives.

In addition to these incentives, the Victorian Government’s Back to Work Scheme is now providing the following funding for eligible employers in the Latrobe Valley:

  • $5,000 is potentially available for eligible employers who hire a new full-time worker who was previously unemployed or retrenched.
  • $4,000 is potentially available as an additional incentive to employers who provide accredited training to these eligible employees.

Employers may potentially also be eligible for $3,750 for hiring a new part-time worker who was previously unemployed or retrenched.

*Claims are available from 1 January 2017 until 30 June 2017. Support will be available for eligible employers who hire people who are unemployed and live in the Latrobe Valley, including Latrobe City and the Shires of Baw Baw and Wellington. Retrenched workers from the Hazelwood Power Station who live outside of the Latrobe Valley will also be eligible employees under the Back to Work Scheme. Further eligibility criteria apply.
