How long does it take?

State-specific Australian School-based Apprenticeships minimum time commitments for vocational training and working with employer are:

 ACT
 Minimum 11 hours per week
 Maximum 20 hours per week

 QUEENSLAND
 Minimum 8 hours per week
 Maximum 20 hours per week
At least 48 days per year

 NEW SOUTH WALES
 Workbased: 10–12 hours per week
 Traineeship: 100 days per year
*Apprenticeship: 1 day per week
*Building Apprenticeship: 144 days per year
*Plumbing Apprenticeships: 184 days per year

 VICTORIA
 Minimum 13 hours per week, averaged over 3 period of 4 months.

 SOUTH AUSTRALIA
 
Minimum 8 hours per week, averaged over the duration of the Training Contract

 TASMANIA
 Minimum 8 hours per week
 Maximum 15 hours per week
 At least 720 hours per year
 

 WESTERN AUSTRALIA
 The nominal duration is calculated by multiplying the nominal:
 full-time duration x 1.5 hours (e.g. full-time nominal duration of 12 months, will be 18 months for AS-bA)
 minimum 624 hours per year (78 days @ 8 hours per day)
