MEGT and the Youth Initiative Program (YIP) have provided thousands of referrals to local employers for students who are exiting or have exited school (up to the age of 19), and who wish to become Apprentices and Trainees. In addition, the Youth Initiative Program provides Responsible Service of Alcohol Training.

How the program works
After you register, our staff will provide the following free services
- regular telephone contact
- referrals to Group Training and to our own local employer contacts
   (including employers in the Revitalising Central Dandenong Project)

How to register
Talk to your careers teacher. Your careers teacher may already receive the MEGT newsletter once a term which includes a registration form and weekly Group Training job lists. 

Simply complete the registration form and fax it to 03 9791 4460. Then one of our staff will contact you about the program and how we can help you.

If your careers teacher does not receive the newsletter or you are no longer at school please contact the Youth Initiative Program staff directly on 03 9791 9529 during business hours (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm).

Responsible Service of Alcohol
Students gain the knowledge and awareness necessary to responsibly serve alcohol responsibly in licensed premises.

Topics covered include:

• facts about alcohol, its effects and the problems associated with excessive alcohol
• alcohol and the law
• providing service to customers
• handling difficult customers.
